Hoos Blues is a Taranaki roots-blues duo featuring Paul Coulton (harp/vocals) and Matt Sturgess (guitar). Their debut album, The Swampshack Sessions, recorded in New Plymouth, captures their distinctive folk-blues sound. With storytelling lyrics and Sturgess’s hand-built four-string guitars, their music reflects hardship, joy, and everyday life while carrying the blues tradition in Aotearoa.
