Our region is constantly evolving and taking the next steps to ensure a vibrant, sustainable, and prosperous Taranaki. The Tapuae Roa 2025/26 Action Plan sets out our region’s strategic priorities and ensures that Taranaki is proactively and pragmatically striving to meet the region’s collective vision.

The actions focus on the things we can do right here and now by tapping into our talent and regional strengths. At the event you will learn from sector leaders covering the key aspects of the plan.

The Action Plan has five key areas of focus:

• Energy
• Food and Fibre
• Māori Economy
• Visitor
• New Industry and Investment

These focus areas are underpinned by three foundations:

• Education, people, and innovation
• Infrastructure and connectivity
• Vibrancy and liveability

About Tapuae Roa – The regional economic development strategy

The Action Plan has been guided by the collective visions of Tapuae Roa – Make Way for Taranaki (TR 2017) regional economic development strategy, and Taranaki 2050, a strategic roadmap co-designed by regional leaders and the community through public consultation. Both provide a long-term vision for a transition to a resilient, equitable, low-emission economy.
