*** BETSY KNOX ***

The fab-u-lous Betsy Knox introduced her unique blend of Soul and Roots to the Taranaki music scene in 2019.

Taking melodic inspiration from RnB classics such as Otis Redding and Nina Simone, the topics within her songs contain bitterness

with a genuinity that is very sweet.  Betsy’s music is expressed publicly through the band Betsy and The Reckless.

We will be treated to Betsy’s solo act which offers loads of presence and vulnerability right up close.

*** SOL BEAR COULTON***

Born and raised in Taranaki Sol Bear Coulton is a much-loved multi-instrumentalist (banjo/lap steel/autoharp) and writer of fun, quirky and catchy

songs warmly delivered with his special brand of swag.   Reared on a range of world music, country and rock, he is now one third of soaring local

band Turkey The Bird who recently released their second album and completed an impressive national tour.    With his impressive deep, booming vocals

and physical prowess, Sol’s music will take you back to when the blues was still young!

Firmly rooted in rhythm ‘n blues/country crossover Karen Clarke’s trademark smoky vocals and driving rhythm guitar work anchor her

pared back solo performance.   Bringing a generous  stage presence Karen confidently transports her listeners

through an eclectic mix of original songs ranging from country cuties to rootsy rants  and bar room bangers – often in shades of blue with a side of sunshine.    Karen is about to celebrate the release of her second album “Sugar”.
