Celebrating Pukekura Park’s 150th anniversary
Pukekura Park is celebrating a major milestone, marking 150 years at the heart of New Plymouth this May.
Originally opened on the 29th of May, 1876 as a 35-acre recreation ground, the park has grown and transformed over the years into the 52-hectare green space locals know and love today.
From its iconic lake and Poet’s Bridge to the Bowl of Brooklands and its much-loved summer events, generations of families have made memories there.
To celebrate, a range of free activities and events will be running from Monday the 25th through to Sunday the 31st of May, with something for all ages and abilities.
Everyone is invited to get involved and be part of the celebrations.
