Women’s Centre New Plymouth 50th Anniversary
The Women’s Centre New Plymouth is proud to be celebrating its 50th anniversary this September — marking five decades of supporting, empowering, and connecting women and their families across Taranaki.
Since opening its doors in 1975, the Centre has been a safe and welcoming place for women to access support services, free classes, information, and opportunities to connect. Over the years it has grown into a trusted hub of knowledge, advocacy, and community spirit — holding fast to its values of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment.
There’ll be celebrations taking place across Friday & Saturday with the first being:
📅 Friday 19 September, 10am–2pm
📍 Women’s Centre, 32 Leach Street
Join us for an Open/Drop-in Day featuring discussion groups (What the Women’s Centre Meant to Me, What Are We Doing Now?, Where Are We Going Next?), waiata with the Shanty Sheilas, morning tea, and lunch. Free event, no registration required.
Come along, share memories, and celebrate 50 years of women supporting women in Taranaki.
