THE TARANAKI SECONDARY SCHOOL JAZZ BAND FUNDRAISER

The Taranaki Jazz Club’s Secondary School’s annual fundraiser on the 14 th September promises to captivate with four Taranaki schools participating.

Those performing this year will be the Sacred Heart College Junior band, Bejazzled and the Senior Band Ritmo Rana, the Francis Douglas College FDC Sharps, a New Plymouth Girl’s High School band and the Maund Dawgs a jazz combo from New Plymouth Boy’s High School. Inglewood High School will be making a welcome return this year. In addition a combined Big Band will play that is made up of musicians from both the New Plymouth Boy’s and Girl’s High Schools. The band recently got into the finals of the Young Jazz Bandit Competition for the third year running. This places them in the top 10 in the country.

A percentage of the profits from the admission charges will be distributed amongst the schools music departments.

Doors open 3.30pm for a 4.30pm start.
