Not THE CHURCH but damn close

not The Church…but damn close are an Auckland based Duo with a unique psychedelic and Sonic full band sound, performing songs from Australia’s The Church.
If you don’t know much about The Church or their music, you may remember ‘Under The Milky Way’ ? or ‘TheUnguarded Moment’ ? or perhaps ‘Almost With You’.
They are an iconic and incredibly melodic two guitar band with such an original sound.
Even if you haven’t heard them (but you like Alternative Guitar Rock) then we’re damn sure you’ll love how we do this.

Formed in 2011 by Auckland based Musician and former ‘MOCKERS’ Guitarist – Paul Lightfoot, not The Church..but damn close now also includes Tauranga based ‘Multi-instrumentalist / Singer and former ‘Picture This’ Drummer – Steve Laffan.
The band create and Produce their own authentic and complex Backing Tracks (Real Drums / Bass Guitar) for their ‘live’ performance. This is backed up with ‘live’ electric Guitar / acoustic guitar and Vocals.

Auckland’s Radio 95bfm Gig Guide said; “If you’ve never had the chance to see ‘The Church’ ‘Live’ in concert, then not The Church..but damn close are the next best thing.They do it so well”.
