Infamous Love Songs

Taranaki singer-songwriter Andy Bassett and Northland vocalist Sheri O’Neill met online in April 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown. Two weeks later, they recorded a remote duet of Andy’s lockdown song “Touch.” The accompanying video was shot in one day in four separate bubbles, as part of the 48Hrs Film Challenge.

In the intervening year, Andy and Sheri have managed to meet up three or four times, to work on a set they have dubbed Infamous Love Songs, mixing the odd original with works by artists as diverse as Deborah Conway, John Prine, Richard Thompson, Talking Heads, Tift Merritt, John Hiatt, Prince, Eric Bachmann, Eurythmics and Tom Waits.

Now, a year on from “Touch,” they finally get to test out Infamous Love Songs together, on the same stage, in front of a live audience. With a support slot by singer-songwriter Emily Riordan, this promises to be a special, intimate evening of music in a relaxed café environment. Entry is FREE!

The event is finished.
