Folk at The Fitz with Westward

Just like last month, our latest guests need no introduction. But they’ve taken the trouble to write one, so here it is!
Westward – Deb & Mike Harding, Lisa Dohig & Ken Kowalchuk – have all been involved in folk music in Taranaki since Ken and Lisa arrived in New Plymouth following a spell in Ohura (teaching, not incarceratin’!).
Following on from their July tourette they will be at folk@theFitz on Sunday 28 July. Featuring four strong vocalists plus guitar, bass and a repertoire of songs to entertain and bring an audience together ‘in unison and harmony’. Songs from near and faraway places and times, from a Te Awamutu wedding to a Mississippi summer, from traditional ballads to modern folk anthems.
To quote from their set list, ‘Let the music speak for itself’ and ‘You’ve got to do it while you can’.

The event is finished.
